What are the requirements for joining MiPPA?

• Business Services Member
• Supplier Representative Member

A. Supplier Member: A supplier is a company within the United States or its possessions, Canada or Mexico, that manufactures, converts, warehouses or decorates promotional products for sale to promotional products distributors or to a firm maintaining a division or affiliate devoted to reselling promotional products.

To qualify for Supplier membership, an applicant must fulfill each of the following criteria:

1. Provide 10 purchase orders from at least 5 different distributors dated within the last 12 months, or
   Be a member of a recognized regional association, or
   Be sponsored by at least 5 members of MiPPA. Sponsorships must be in writing and accompany application for membership
2. Declare a promotional products annual sales volume of at least $50,000.
3. Be in business at least 6 months (the personal experience of an applicant in the promotional products industry is acceptable in lieu of 6 months business experience.
4. Must have a physical presence within the United States or its possessions, Canada Or Mexico which might include but not be limited to: a warehouse or a sales, manufacturing or distribution facility.

B. Distributor Member: A distributor is a company (or a company that maintains a division, department or affiliate) located within the United States or its possessions, Canada or Mexico, whose primary business includes developing ideas for the use of promotional products, buying such products from suppliers and reselling them to end buyers.

To Qualify for Distributor membership an applicant must fulfill each of the following criteria:

1. Provide 10 invoices, not for samples, from at least 5 different promotional products suppliers dated within the last 12 months, or
   Be a member of a recognized regional association, PPAI, or
   Be sponsored by at least 5 members of MiPPA. Sponsorships must be in writing and accompany application for membership
2. Declare a promotional products annual sales volume of at least $15,000.
3. Be in business at least 3 months (the personal experience of an applicant in the promotional products industry is acceptable in lieu of 3 months business experience.
4. Must have a physical presence within the United States or its possessions, Canada Or Mexico.

C. Business Services Member: A company that sells services, information or products (other than promotional products) that support the normal conduct of business

To qualify for a Business Services membership, an applicant must fulfill each of the following criteria:

1. Provide products and services (other than promotional products) that are used in or support the normal conduct of business
2. Have been engaged in the promotional products industry for at least one year.
3. Provide references from 10 promotional products companies that are members of MiPPA or a MiPPA recognized regional or international association, who verify that the applying firm provides products or services to the companies in the promotional products industry. This can be done in on of the following two ways:
   1. Submit a purchase order from each of the 10 references for products or services sold by the applying firm within the last year, or
   2. Secure and submit a letter from each of the 10 references, on their letterhead, verifying that the applying firm provides products or services to companies in the promotional products industry.

D. Supplier Representative Member: An independent company, contracted by one or more suppliers to market their products and services to distributors.

To qualify for membership as a Supplier Representative, an applicant must fulfill each of the following criteria:

1. Be contracted by one of more suppliers to market their products and services to distributors.
2. Have been engaged in the promotional products industry for at least one year (the personal experience of an applicant in the promotional products industry is acceptable in lieu of one years business experience, or
   Be a member of a recognized regional or international association.
3. Be sponsored by at least five members of MiPPA. Sponsorships must be in writing and accompany the application for membership.
